SHEILD ASSOCIATION

Following the invitation of ACCES and the Mine Action Unit (MAU) at the SHEILD Association, and in the presence of General Bashalani, Director of the Lebanese Mine Action Center (LMAC), Dr. Samer Haidar, Chairman of SHEILD, and all the directors, I delivered a presentation on educational tools related to virtual reality and augmented reality.
This visit provided an opportunity to demonstrate the added value of using these educational technology tools in the context of EORE awareness sessions conducted by the association for children.
I look forward to a fruitful collaboration soon, where children will have the opportunity to see Sugar, the hero of SHEILD’s awareness stories, roaming in a virtual world and delivering messages through augmented reality technology.
Special thanks to Mrs. Hanane Attieh, who believes in the effectiveness of educational technology, for her coordination in ensuring the success of this meeting.

I was honored to visit Université Sainte Famille Batroun, where I had the opportunity to meet the learners of the Faculty of Education. We engaged in fruitful discussions about educational technology, focusing on the use of immersive learning techniques in education. The learners were introduced to Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR), recognizing their effectiveness and the importance of using them in the classroom.

I was honored to visit the Carmelia School in my beloved hometown, Kobayat, where I had the opportunity to meet the heads of departments and coordinators. We had fruitful discussions about educational technology, including the use of Immersive Learning techniques in education. They were introduced to Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) and recognized their effectiveness and the importance of using them with students.

I had the pleasure to introduce the concepts of coding and robotics to the preschool teachers at Saints Coeurs Ain Najm , emphasizing their benefits for the physical, cognitive, and socio-emotional development of students, as well as their importance in acquiring language and mathematical skills.
In addition, I provided the school with the necessary tools and the educational program corresponding to these concepts.

Given its experience in educational technology and the extensive expertise gained from that experience, Saint Mary’s Orthodox College (SMOC) became the first Lebanese school to showcase its educational technologies alongside tech companies at the 7th technology conference and exhibition, EDUTECH, organized by the General Secretariat of Catholic Schools at their headquarters on April 25, 26, and 27, 2024.
Over the 3 days, I presented to visitors all the technological methods, approaches, and tools that learners benefit from in the educational technology lab at the school. The attendees were impressed by the educational uses of virtual and augmented reality, artificial intelligence, holograms, programming, robotics, 3D printing, and STEAM activities.
The General Secretariat appreciated the exhibitors’ contributions to the conference’s success by inviting their representatives to an honorary dinner on April 30.

I participated with Saint Mary’s Orthodox College (SMOC) on the 7th and 8th of March 2024 in the National Exhibition for Educational Supplies and Solutions, SchoolTec, at the Movenpick Hotel Beirut.
During the exhibition, we presented the technological tools and techniques used in the school. Visitors showed significant interest and interaction, especially during their testing of Augmented and Virtual realities, alongside other technologies. Additionally, on the second day, we provided practical training on how to use Artificial Intelligence in the educational-learning process. The attendees realized the effectiveness of technology when used properly, in saving time and improving quality.

On Tuesday, the 28th of February, Saint Mary’s Orthodox College (SMOC) received a delegation from Al-Mabarrat School to inspect the school’s educational technology lab, which includes advanced devices and technologies. During the visit, my colleagues and I were keen to provide a comprehensive explanation of the lab’s content and how its technologies are integrated into the educational process in a manner that aligns with the curricula of all stages and classes. The members of the delegation expressed positive interaction and great admiration for what they saw and experienced.
